Death penality for the terrorist.....................

Mohammad Ajmal kasab has been given a sentence and no prices for guessing he is sentenced to death. Ajmal kasab was convicted and found guilty on almost all the 86 charges. Death was the only sentence this guy would get. It was inevitable. I really don’t care whether this guys lives or dies all I care is the public safety, no body should be allowed to cause the mayhem like Mumbai 26/11.

The verdict is hailed as an accomplishment for the Indian administration. It deserve accolades taking in account that the ruling came in less than a year and the people in charge of this case had a humongous task in their hands with all the paper work involved and national sensibilities hanging on the case from the very beginning.
The Home Minister finally got something to boost about after so many debacles concerning the national security and sounded elated while pronouncing that whole world (read Pakistan and US) should know, India is governed by the law. The hanging of kasab should not be taken as an achievement by our security agencies or the the home minister rather he should put all his energy to make India more secure. The prevention or cure should begin from home and the Indian administration needs to do a great deal of introspection on its home front.

The security agencies have the custody of Ajmal Kasab for a year and have we got any thing substantial from this guy and the answer is probably no. The 26/11judgment also acquitted two co accused conspirators of the Mumbai mayhem. It was officially confirmed that there were some Indians involved as well and two Indian guys were framed for the conspiracy. However, the judgment clearly sets them free while the security agencies were reprimanded for framing charges on such hypothetical evidence. If the security agencies can’t gather enough evidence on the home soil how can you expect the same people to gather substantial evidence against Hafiz Sayeed, lakhvi and all the other people involved in 26/ 11 Mumbai attacks. When Pakistan says the dossiers are not substantial, there surely can be some truth in the troubled neighbor’s Stance.

We didn’t catch David Headily but Americans did. There is every possibility that Indian intelligence agencies were not even aware if any David Headley and Tahawwur Rana existed in the world wide web of terrorism. The American friends are really generous in informing us about the alleged involvement of David Headley and Rana in the Mumbai carnage, but these friends just turn deaf to the pleas for a share of Headley. The Home minister always assure us that he is pretty close to getting Headley but the distance still seems to be quite far from the reality.

India can’t afford to be complacent on raising its intelligence capabilities. India is spending a lot on border deployment and increasing its ammunition arsenal. The recent aborted attack In New York has proven again that no country can be safe without a good intelligence network. The reports in media that National Technical Research Organization, an intelligence agency created in the aftermath of the Kargil war to cover all aspects of technical intelligence gathering is busy helping its political bosses in settling scores is really unfortunate and an irresponsible behavior from a nation that claims to be a victim of terror for so long.

The national security should be the topmost priority for India and it requires India to engage its neighbors in the process to bring back peace and stability to the region. However, before expecting our troubled neighbor to straighten things up we need to make sure that we set our own house in order first………….
